About Pirton Community Choir

Pirton Community Choir is a vibrant and inclusive choir based in the heart of Pirton.  The choir is open to singers of all abilities, and meets weekly during term-time to rehearse a diverse repertoire spanning musicals, contemporary secular pieces, sacred and classical works.  With no auditions required, the choir fosters a welcoming environment where members can develop their vocal skills, enjoy communal singing, and participate in local cultural events.  Pirton Community Choir is dedicated to enriching the community through music and offering an engaging, supportive experience for all participants.

The choir was first formed in October 2023, and was made possible by a generous legacy left to St Mary's church by Bette Woodward who played the organ in the church for many years.  Much credit must go to the church for realising that to be a success the choir should be led by a professionally qualified musician, and duly appointed the inspirational Heather Fuller as the Director of Music.

In late 2024 the choir experienced a surge of interest, and in October 2024 a committee was formed with a view to putting the choir on a firm long-term footing and later in the year adopted a constitution in charitable form.  The choir has now grown to around 50 members.
