Musical Director

Heather Fuller

Our Musical Director is Heather Fuller.

Heather Fuller is a Hertfordshire-born soprano who gained her BMus in Music from Cardiff University, where she was awarded the David Lloyd Scholarship for Vocal Excellence.  She went on to complete her MA with Distinction at the Wales International Academy of Voice (WIAV) in 2022, training under Dennis O’Neill, Jane Samuel, Ryland Davies, and Linda Kitchen.

During her time at Cardiff University, Heather performed widely with university ensembles, including a tour of China with the Cardiff University Chamber Choir in 2019.  She also worked closely with the University Contemporary Music Group, premiering new and modern works as both a soloist and ensemble singer.

Solo performances have included Lori Laitman’s The Butterfly for soprano and saxophone, reflecting her passion for performing contemporary compositions by female composers.  Heather has a strong background in opera, both on stage and behind the scenes.  As President of the Cardiff University Operatic Society from 2017 to 2019, she produced a full-scale performance of Carmen.  Her operatic roles include Mrs. Hayes in Susannah and Damon in Acis and Galatea, as well as chorus work in Carmen and La Bohème.  She has also taken part in masterclasses with Aylesbury Opera and worked with leading vocal coaches such as Della Jones, Susan Bullock, Ryland Davies, and James Gilchrist.

Beyond opera, Heather is passionate about choral music and community singing.  Having grown up as a chorister in St. Mary’s Church, Hitchin, Heather has extensive experience in church music.  From 2018 to 2020, she was a choral scholar at St Martin’s in Roath and was also a member of the RSCM Millennium Youth Choir under the direction of Adrian Lucas.

In 2023, Heather founded the Pirton Community Choir and frequently leads vocal workshops across Hertfordshire and beyond.  Heather also teaches singing at Aldwickbury School alongside classroom music teaching and performs as a member of the professional vocal ensemble Voces Florium.
